Fleming Island Elementary School Families,
Welcome to Fleming Island Elementary School, home of the Stringrays! I am honored to work with each of you as we grow throughout this school year. The elementary school years are an exciting time when children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning both academically and socially. At Fleming Island Elementary, our vision is to be a supportive and inclusive environment which engages and inspires students by promoting a growth mindset and belief that all students are capable of learning. We want our students to be problem solvers who utilize critical thinking skills to make a greater impact on the world.
We are proud to be a Cambridge Primary school and focus on the learner attributes of Responsible, Innovation, Engaging, Responsible, and Confident. Cambridge Primary is a natural supplement to the rigorous, relevant and competitive educational experience we seek to provide in Clay County District Schools. All students in K-6 participate in the Cambridge program.
We take great pride in holding our children to high academic and behavior standards so that they can reach their utmost potential. Our teachers and staff work diligently every day to ensure that each child learns. When our students leave Fleming Island Elementary, we know that they will be well prepared to succeed in junior high school and beyond. Our goal is that our students are independent, lifelong learners!
As we partner together for this school year, we will need your help! Our commitment to you is to keep our focus on teaching and learning. You can help us by making sure students arrive at school on time each day. Our school day begins at 8:30am and ends at 2:42pm. Please make all efforts to schedule any student appointments before or after school hours to ensure that your child receives a full day's instruction. Students must be present to learn and we are committed to delivering quality instruction!
Throughout the school year, please make sure to keep the lines of communication open with your child’s teacher. He/she will always be your first contact for any questions or concerns you may have. Parents and teachers working together will not only increase your child’s success but serve as a great model for students as to how to work effectively as a team. You can help your child by working with him/her at home, volunteering at the school, and/or serving on the PFA or SAC.
I look forward to making this a very successful year for everyone as we work to provide a high-quality education that supports the academic, social, and emotional needs of our students! Go Stingrays!
Sincerely,
Mallory McConnell, Principal

Welcome to Fleming Island Elementary School!
I am happy to introduce myself as the assistant principal of Fleming Island Elementary School. My passion for education and the success of all students has been shaped over the years growing up in a family of educators and also serving in multiple roles within the schools such as teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal. In each role, I have sought to ensure the success of each student and school by providing the best educational opportunities and support possible. Similarly, it is my number one priority at Fleming Island Elementary that every student is held to high expectations academically and behaviorally and receives a well-rounded, positive, and safe education.
At Fleming Island Elementary, our vision is to be a supportive and inclusive environment which engages and inspires students by promoting a growth mindset and belief that all students are capable of learning. We want our students to be problem solvers who utilize critical thinking skills to make a greater impact on the world.
Fleming Island Elementary School is proud to say that we are a Cambridge Primary school and focus on the learner attributes of Responsible, Innovative, Engaging, Responsible, and Confident. Cambridge Primary is a natural supplement to the rigorous, relevant and competitive educational experience we seek to provide in Clay County District Schools. All students in K-6 participate in the Cambridge program.
Community and family partnerships are fundamental to the success of our school. Fleming Island Elementary is proud to partner with local business and organizations as well as families in the community. We appreciate the support we receive, daily, from all partners!
We encourage you to partner with us as it takes a village to ensure that our children experience success. You can help your child by working with him/her at home, volunteering at the school, and/or serving on the Parent Faculty Association or School Advisory Committee.
Thank you for trusting your child in our care and partnering with faculty/staff members to prepare children for success. I look forward to the year ahead!
